A resort and spa where the Sal river meets the Arabian Sea

118 rooms and villas on 22 acres in Cavelossim, south Goa. Forty minutes from Dabolim airport.

Welcome to Maré Alta

The resort opened in 2009 on a strip of land between the river and the beach, and the gardens have had time to grow in. Most rooms look onto the water on one side or the other.

There are three restaurants, a spa with eight treatment suites, two pools, a kids’ club, and a boat jetty on the river for sunset cruises and dolphin trips. The beach out front is one of the quietest in Goa.

Pool in the garden

The spa

Eight treatment suites set around a lily pond, a steam room and a quiet pool for spa guests only. Our therapists trained in Kerala and most treatments draw on Ayurveda.

Abhyanga, 60 minutes, ₹5,500. Couples’ ritual with a private bath, 120 minutes, ₹14,000.

Weddings at Maré Alta

A beach lawn for 400 guests, a riverside deck for the mehendi, and a team that has planned over 300 weddings here.

“Our river suite had the best sunset view of the trip. Breakfast at Ambar was generous and the spa was easily the highlight.”

Nikhil and Isha, Mumbai, stayed in February 2026
